New West Seminary is dedicated to providing the education, opportunities, and experiences that will support and prepare those who are called to spiritual leadership and sacred service.
Our programs strive to support our students in deep personal spiritual exploration and formation, rigorous scholarship, practical ministry skills, and active service in the world.
The intention is that each student's education prepares them to be a powerful conduit for the indwelling presence we call God, by serving the world with his or her own unique voice of Spirit.
This world is full of unique individuals with unique relationships with the Sacred.
The call to sacred service by the Divine can be as different as the individual is. To support the spiritual seeker, New West Seminary offers several programs:
While we are committed to training ministers for church leadership, many of our graduates find themselves serving in places that are outside the traditional form of a church. Their service is holy and sacred and their studies and experiences at New West Seminary have been vital to their ability to answer the call to sacred service.
Our programs are tailored for the adult learner who is already active in the world. Classes are scheduled evenings and weekends, using online learning in partnership with the classroom experience.
As a New Thought seminary, our foundation is based upon the belief in God as the one and only power and presence in the universe and in the basic goodness and creative capacity of humankind. While we teach from a New Thought perspective, we embrace the core truths of the world’s rich faith traditions and honor their unique expressions. We seek and value the wisdom that is gifted to us through the deep faith of the world’s spiritual teachers and leaders.
New West Seminary is affiliated with Open Spirit Community, an independent New Thought Spiritual Community. For more information about Open Spirit and New Thought, please visit their website at:
